Pakistan is one of the most dynamic countries on the globe today. Pakistan’s people are very diverse and represent more than 60 languages and dialects! Pakistan’s population ranks eighth in the world. Its 168 million people live in a landmass only twice the size of California, so you can imagine why many newcomers are shocked at the sheer number of people they see when they come to Pakistan!
In recent years, many in the media have called Pakistan “dangerous” based on the tumultuous political situation in the country. However, God is at work in Pakistan. He has called many Christian workers to the people of Pakistan over the past 200 years. People like ‘Praying’ John Hyde have spent their lives in the service of Christ to see the Pakistani people come to Jesus. Today, Pakistan is still open to Christian work, but there are literally millions of Pakistanis without Christ for every follower of Jesus sharing the gospel with Muslims in Pakistan.
Perhaps God has been speaking to you in the same way as He did to John Hyde when he observed, “It is only He (God) who can put each man in the place where his life can count for the most.” Make your life “count for the most” by getting involved in God’s work in Pakistan today!
